Become a Paramedic Through the Dean College School of Continuing Studies
Passionate about providing patient care and interested in becoming a paramedic? Through the School of Continuing Studies, Dean College offers a Paramedic Training Program in partnership with EMTS Inc.
Through the program, you will learn how to provide the most advanced level of pre-hospital emergency patient care to acutely ill or injured patients in a variety of settings. You will study an in-depth approach to anatomy and physiology, cardiac treatment and advanced cardiac life support, medication administration, advanced airway management, technical rescue, EKG interpretation and treatment, management of medical and trauma emergencies and more. Students will complete didactic, lab sessions, clinical and field internships to receive an in-depth education, clinical experiences and practical application.
The Paramedic Training Program meets the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and national guidelines for paramedic education. Students must first complete an approved EMT- Basic course.
The Paramedic Training Program will run from May 16, 2022, through April 4, 2023. Classes will be held on the Dean College campus Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with lab sessions held Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Clinical and field internships will be arranged with EMS services in all areas of Eastern Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands, Metropolitan Boston, and the North and South Shores. Sites will be assigned and coordinated on an individual basis to
accommodate students’ various schedules.
Virtual info sessions will be offered from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, May 4, 2022.
