The Franklin Elks Lodge #2136 sponsored a dinner-dance fundraiser for the Franklin War Monument Restoration Project on Saturday, August 6 at the Franklin Elks Lodge. The event, organized by Elks trustee Mark Ellis, was held to benefit the War Monument Restoration Fund.

The Franklin Veterans’ Services Office would like to acknowledge Elks members for their participation in the event with special thanks to Mark and Diane Ellis. Many thanks to Chaplain Robert Markunis of the American Legion Post 75 for his outstanding fundraising efforts. 

To date, the concrete pads on four monuments on the Main Street side of the Town Common have been replaced because of deterioration. Additional restoration and cleaning of four war monuments on the Common began in late August.
