Welcome to the Franklin Public Library’s first Annual Reading Challenge! For each monthly prompt that you complete and submit on time you will receive a Free Book Coupon that’s good at the library’s Book Sale. Submissions MUST be submitted by the last day of each month in order to qualify for that month’s Free Book Coupon. For complete details and to sign-up, visit our website! ESL & Adult Literacy Program
The Franklin Public Library has started an English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy Program to serve Franklin and its surrounding communities. Volunteers and students do not need to be Franklin residents. If interested, fill out the registration form on the library’s website.

Hula Hoop Hoopla! Wednesday, October 2nd @ 1 p.m.
Ole Flamenco! Thursday, October 3rd @ 1 p.m.
Eve Costarelli, of Always Be Dancing, will lead this interactive, highly engaging program for families.
Trunk or Treat! Saturday, October 19th @ 3:30 p.m.
Families! Dress up and join us in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly bout of trick-or-treating in the daylight!
Creepy Crawlers! Saturday, October 26th @ 1 p.m.
It’s spooky season and what better way to celebrate than with some of the creepiest and crawliest critters around! YES! There will be real live bugs and more!
Special Events for Teens
Teen Spooky Painting! Wednesday October 9 @ 5:30p.m.
Teens! Join us as we take on the fun TikTok trend of spookifying a perfectly normal painting and making it creepy, just in time for Halloween! No registration required!
Disney Musical Bingo! Wednesday, October 23th@ 5 p.m.
Join us for Musical Bingo! Part Bingo, part trivia, participants will listen to the music as it plays and fill in their bingo cards! This month’s Bingo theme: Disney Movies!
Special Events for Adults
Fantastical Folktales of Flowers Tuesday October 1 @ 7 p.m.
Hosted by The Franklin Public Library & Franklin Garden Club
Retold by award-winning storyteller and theatre artist, Diane Edgecomb, along with longtime collaborator and Celtic harper, Margot Chamberlain, these stories conjure a magical world bringing new meaning to favorite garden flowers. This program is supported in full by a grant from the Franklin Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Painting for Adults Saturday October 12 @1 p.m.
Grown-ups! Are you feeling creative? Join Miss Lily to create your very own step-by-step painting of a covered bridge! All materials will be provided. Registration is required!
Paranormal Investigations Saturday October 19 @ 2 p.m.
Join us in welcoming Paranormal New England! They specialize in the research and investigation of paranormal claims utilizing strict scientific methodologies, specialized custom equipment and over 50 years of combined research experience.
